Software Engineer I

Remote Intern

Summary

Nike is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer I within its Global Technology organization to build internal product creation tools for the Consumer Product & Innovation community. The role focuses on delivering modular, configurable, API-first capabilities consumed by modern web applications to support Nike’s merchandising domain.

What you'll do

  • Build and enhance internal tooling for Enterprise-facing Consumer Product & Innovation applications within Nike’s merchandising domain.
  • Develop modular, configurable, API-first services and capabilities.
  • Collaborate day-to-day with engineers, a Product Manager, and principal engineers to deliver software projects aligned to business objectives.
  • Contribute to modern web applications using component-based UI frameworks (e.g., React).
  • Partner with other Global Technology teams on organizational and technical goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or any suitable combination of education, experience, and training).

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience (including internships and academic projects).

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.

  • Familiarity with modern architecture principles: REST, microservices, domain-driven design.

  • Exposure to building web applications with React, Angular, or Vue.js.

  • Basic knowledge of cloud concepts and services (AWS preferred).

  • Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, test-driven development, and infrastructure as code (coursework or internships acceptable).

  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Cypress, Mocha, Jasmine, or Jest (academic or internship projects).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, willingness to learn new technologies, strong communication, and collaborative ability.

  • Plus: experience with APIs, event-driven systems, or cloud-based solutions; interest in AI/ML and data-driven solutions.

Conditions

  • Work within Nike’s Global Technology organization, reporting to an Engineering Manager or Director.
