Human Resources Business Partner
Summary
Gordian (a Fortive company) is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Business Partner to support the Operating Company and partner closely with the VP/General Manager and corporate functions. The role focuses on driving talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness through coaching leaders and solving complex people challenges in a continuous-improvement environment.
What you'll do
Partner with people leaders as the HR Business Partner for the Operating Company.
Coach leaders on employee engagement strategies; analyze engagement data, identify root causes, and co-develop action plans to improve engagement, retention, and productivity.
Support Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (IDE) efforts by deploying tools and practices that foster an inclusive growth culture across HR processes and policies.
Advise leaders on goal setting and the full performance management lifecycle, including feedback, coaching, annual processes, and performance improvement plan (PIP) consultation.
Provide guidance on HR policies and employee relations; coach managers through ER issues and coordinate with ER COE on investigations and countermeasures as needed.
Lead workforce planning and workforce actions (ramp-up, acquisitions, restructuring, role eliminations) aligned to business strategy; conduct organizational talent assessments and use workforce data to inform decisions.
Build manager capability in talent management through talent review/OTA cadence; advise on development planning and talent selection in partnership with TA and COEs; help design and deliver training enabled by technology.
Requirements
Minimum 8 years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Management, or related experience.
Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve processes/services.
Demonstrated capability to lead others in solving complex people/organizational problems using strong analytical judgment and innovative solutions.
Experience delivering results across diverse clients/operations; leading cross-functional projects with moderate risk, resources, and complexity; strong decision-making under broad guidelines.
Strong stakeholder management skills; trusted advisor to leaders and HR colleagues; effective cross-functional collaboration.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, including influencing leaders to adopt different viewpoints.
Data-driven decision-making and high attention to detail; hands-on approach.
Preferred: deep knowledge of organizational design, talent management, employee relations, compensation, engagement, change management, learning, and performance management.
Preferred: proven project management/execution and influencing through data-driven recommendations.
Preferred: experience working across multiple time zones.
Preferred: proficiency with Oracle HCM.
Conditions
Remote role; partners with VP/General Manager and corporate functions; reports to VP HR.
Willingness to travel approximately 10–20% (preferred).
Eligible for bonus as part of total compensation.
