Head of Regional Events
Summary
Curate Group (Lumos Experiences) produces immersive candlelight live music events in unique venues and is expanding internationally. The Head of Regional Event Operations will own end-to-end performance for the Chicago hub, scaling regional operations while protecting brand standards and ensuring profitable, consistently excellent shows.
What you'll do
Establish and grow the Lumos event business across Chicago and surrounding areas.
Act as the senior local decision-maker, resolving issues quickly and confidently.
Set and deliver regional business plans aligned to company growth targets.
Analyze ticket sales, pricing, customer data, and event performance to inform regional strategy (with HQ support).
Source, book, and contract venues; serve as primary liaison with venue partners and suppliers (with intent to transition to a Venue Partnerships hire within ~3 months).
Lead planning and execution of events, overseeing creative, operations, and on-site teams.
Recruit and build the event team; manage staff scheduling, training, and payroll processing.
Develop and implement systems and processes to streamline event operations.
Oversee inventory, stock ordering, and logistics to ensure smooth weekly delivery.
Manage the events inbox and handle customer enquiries professionally and promptly.
Manage production teams and ensure technical and operational elements run seamlessly.
Maintain strict budget control while ensuring high-quality delivery.
Deliver daily and post-event reports; analyze KPIs and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Monitor industry trends and conduct competitor analysis to support strategic decisions.
Propose innovative ideas and creative event solutions to elevate the event experience.
Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in events management, production, or general management (ideally in live entertainment or hospitality).
Commercial mindset with a focus on growth opportunities.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel to events for setup.
Dependable and proactive; able to independently establish and lead operations while collaborating remotely with a UK-based team.
Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to multitask under pressure.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Budget management experience.
Proficiency with Google Suite and team collaboration tools.
Comfortable sharing new ideas and ways of working; creative thinking with measurable outputs.
Conditions
Location: Chicago area with regional travel to shows; hybrid working policy.
Weekend availability required initially to attend and oversee key events.
