Middle/Senior PHP Developer (Web Portals)

Summary

Applyft is an IT product company creating value-driven mobile apps in Family Safety, Entertainment, and Mental Health. We are seeking a Middle/Senior PHP Developer to join our Engineering team and develop and maintain backend services in a high-load microservices environment.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain backend services in a high-load microservices environment
  • Integrate third-party services including payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal) and marketing analytics platforms
  • Ensure security, scalability, and performance optimization of backend systems
  • Collaborate with mobile, frontend, DevOps, and QA teams for seamless delivery
  • Write unit tests using PHPUnit to ensure high code quality and coverage
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend applications
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system evolution

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in backend development with PHP (Symfony, Laravel, Yii frameworks)
  • Strong experience with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with microservices architecture in production environments
  • Experience integrating payment systems (Stripe, PayPal)
  • Experience integrating marketing analytics systems
  • Proficient in building and consuming REST APIs
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and MySQL or other relational databases
  • Experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ or SQS
  • Good understanding of testing principles and PHPUnit experience
  • Knowledge of caching tools like Redis or Memcached
  • Intermediate English level
  • Strong team player with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
  • Plus: Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB), Event-Driven Architecture, and CQRS patterns
