Editorial Assistant (PH)
Summary
Disney Experiences is hiring an Editorial Assistant to support key Disney Hyperion publishing programs while working closely with the Editorial Director and the editorial team. The role focuses on coordinating editorial and acquisitions workflows, creating publishing copy, and supporting cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Support management of key publishing programs.
- Participate in creative brainstorming meetings.
- Liaise with Design, Marketing, Publicity, Sales, and Content Packaging teams.
- Prepare acquisition paperwork (acquisitions memos and P&Ls) and track projects through the acquisitions process.
- Set up acquired projects in the title management system.
- Draft fact sheets, catalog copy, bound galley copy, and jacket/cover copy.
- Send stages of proofs to authors/illustrators for review.
- Request ISBNs and maintain the title system.
- Manage and process payments for titles; track payments and troubleshoot problems.
- Order complimentary copies for authors/illustrators and agents.
- Create and manage PowerPoint presentations as needed.
Requirements
Education: 4-year college degree.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a high-volume environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask successfully, work independently, and meet deadlines.
Strong interest in and knowledge of commercial children’s fiction.
Design program knowledge is a plus.
Ability to brainstorm new ideas with a large team.
Conditions
Location-based hiring range listed for New York: $42,600–$57,000 per year (base pay varies by region and experience).
Bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be included.
