People Business Partner (100% Remote)
Summary
ClearCaptions is an FCC-certified phone captioning provider focused on improving communication for seniors and people who are hard-of-hearing through near real-time captioning technology. The People Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, executing people strategy and strengthening talent management, engagement, and organizational alignment across designated business areas. This is a fully remote role partnering closely with People Centers of Excellence to deliver scalable HR programs and an inclusive employee experience.
What you'll do
Partner with people leaders to execute people strategy aligned to team and business unit objectives, supporting a high-performing, values-aligned, engaged workforce.
Provide guidance on employee relations matters (performance coaching, investigations, conflict resolution), managing the full case lifecycle and escalating critical issues as needed.
Investigate and resolve complex or critical ER issues; coordinate stakeholders; document findings and recommendations.
Facilitate core people programs such as goal setting, performance evaluations, engagement initiatives, and employee recognition within assigned business units.
Coach leaders on developing employee strengths, improving team effectiveness, and fostering engagement.
Collaborate with People Centers of Excellence (Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development) to deliver consistent HR solutions.
Develop, interpret, and apply company policies, labor laws, and employment practices to ensure compliance and fairness.
Track and report people metrics; support ad hoc reporting and workforce analysis to inform business decisions.
Participate in or lead smaller-scale HR projects/pilots and support broader change initiatives.
Promote an inclusive culture by embedding DEI&B practices in interactions and processes.
Manage the exit interview process; analyze turnover/retention trends and recommend improvements.
Stay current on HR best practices, employment law updates, and company policies; contribute to process improvements.
Provide training, counsel, and guidance on performance standards and quality evaluations.
Perform other duties as assigned to support business or People team priorities.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; BS/BA degree or equivalent experience preferred.
5–7 years of relevant experience in a People Business Partner role.
Required: experience supporting remote workforces in a multi-state environment.
Preferred: HRBP support for contact/service center populations and/or warehouse facilities.
Experience building and leading HR programs, projects, and teams.
Proficiency with HRIS systems (Dayforce a plus) and Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
Preferred certifications: PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar.
Experience across ER, performance management, talent development, and compensation practices.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
Demonstrated ability to coach managers, facilitate ER conversations, and resolve day-to-day workplace issues.
Strong strategic, critical thinking, and analytical skills to identify trends and recommend solutions.
Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills; ability to build rapport with mid-level leaders and employees.
Self-starter with strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
Ability to collaborate in a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally overnight (up to 10%) and work flexible hours as needed.
Work authorization: must be authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.
Conditions
Work arrangement: 100% remote / work from home; home office environment.

Compensation: salary range stated as $90,000–$100,000 annually (final based on qualifications, experience, and business needs).
