Sourcing Specialist

Walt Disney World is hiring a Sourcing Specialist to support sourcing of goods and services for Disney Cruise Line ships and private islands across global teams. The role partners with Marine Technical Operations and Hotel stakeholders to plan and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, manage suppliers and contracts, and deliver cost-effective, compliant procurement within timeline.

• Manage internal client relationships and support goods buying, procurement, category management, and technical solution finding for Disney Cruise Line new build and operations.
• Lead and execute sourcing initiatives to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) while meeting company policy, business strategy, and performance needs.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic sourcing arrangements with key suppliers.
• Source, quote, and negotiate supply relationships for goods and services (cost, lead time, terms, scope, payment milestones, warranty).
• Provide quote management, project sourcing, and order execution for multiple vessels or islands.
• Coordinate and confirm requirements with onboard partners and/or shoreside management; support regulatory compliance needs (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, USCG, Lloyds Registry).
• Leverage the global supply base to achieve best landed cost.
• Own issue resolution for timeline delays, order errors, returns, and related exceptions through completion.
• Communicate professionally and proactively with stakeholders.
• Define supplier performance metrics and identify process improvement and value opportunities.
• Apply data-driven analysis to solve complex problems.
• Develop integrated sourcing strategies using category management best practices; assess spend-category opportunities and present critical business information to stakeholders.
• Manage contracts and key supplier relationships; understand and administer global, regional, and local agreements.
• Support brand protection through risk management practices and corporate citizenship goals including environmental and supplier diversity efforts.
• Ensure shipping modes are expedited and cost-efficient and that shipping documentation aligns with trade and compliance guidelines.

• 1-3 years of experience supporting a Strategic Sourcing and/or Procurement function in the marine industry or heavy project/construction management within complex industries (e.g., park entertainment and/or real estate development).
• Experience negotiating pricing and commercial terms and conditions.
• Ability to conform contracts for simple to moderately complex technical and non-technical engagements.
• Working knowledge and execution of formal RFP processes for services and/or goods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Exchange, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong listening skills, curiosity, and learning mindset.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a positive attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to peers, leaders, stakeholders, vendors, and executives.
• Ability to prioritize with urgency and reliably meet commitments.
• Comfort working across cultures, backgrounds, and work styles; values diverse viewpoints.
• Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain, Finance, Marine/Industrial Engineering, Naval Architecture, Construction Management, or similar.
• Operational familiarity with AMOS, Coupa, and SAP sourcing/procurement modules/systems.

• Preferred:

  • MBA or Master’s degree.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB).
  • APICS CSCP.
  • ISM CPSM.
  • NCMA CPCM.
