Summary
Alameda Unified School District is seeking a Principal for Love Elementary for the 2026/27 school year. The role leads school operations and the instructional program to ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment that supports student growth and equity. The Principal manages staff, programs, budget, and community relations to advance educational outcomes.
What you'll do
- Administer school operations and supervise the educational program.
- Establish and maintain an effective learning climate.
- Adapt the general education program to meet community needs.
- Develop, administer, and coordinate ancillary programs that enhance student learning opportunities.
- Direct school staff in performance of duties and evaluate performance of assigned personnel.
- Establish guidelines for student conduct and discipline procedures.
- Assume responsibility for student health, welfare, and attendance.
- Coordinate or supervise support services needed to administer effective programs.
- Provide leadership for extracurricular activities.
- Administer the decentralized school budget and monitor expenditures.
- Develop public relations to build community understanding and support; leverage school and community resources.
- Manage school plant safety, including fire drills and emergency preparedness programs.
- Participate in meetings, special functions, and school events as required.
- Implement Board policies and administrative rules and regulations.
- Promote professional growth for self and staff.
- Perform other related tasks as requested by the Superintendent.
Requirements
- Valid California Administrative Credential.
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a role requiring management or supervisory skills (posting also notes 3 years of management/supervisory/administrative experience).
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution.
