Summary
Arine is a healthcare technology and clinical services company based in San Francisco focused on transforming medication management using data science and an innovative SaaS platform. The HR Generalist will support a fast-paced scaling environment by ensuring a smooth, compliant employee experience and building scalable HR processes across the organization.
What you'll do
- Manage leaves of absence and workplace accommodations in compliance with applicable laws and policies, coordinating with Payroll.
- Partner with managers on complex employee situations, including performance management, documentation, and disciplinary actions.
- Coach managers on feedback delivery, difficult conversations, and consistent policy application.
- Oversee contractor lifecycle processes, including performance management, extensions, and conversions to full-time roles.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, templates, and employee-facing communications to ensure multi-state compliance (including California).
- Coordinate temp-to-hire processes and support hiring managers with onboarding and transitions.
- Maintain and update the employee handbook to reflect current policies and legal requirements.
- Support immigration processes, including documentation management and coordination with external partners.
- Administer offboarding processes, including system access revocation and compliance documentation.
- Regularly review, update, and communicate HR policy changes to ensure ongoing legal compliance.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of progressive HR/People experience, preferably in a generalist role.
- Strong knowledge of leave management, workplace accommodations, and employment law compliance (e.g., FMLA, ADA).
- Experience with California and San Francisco employment regulations.
- Familiarity with immigration processes and employment-based visas (preferred).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Proven ability to succeed in dynamic, fast-paced environments (startup/scaling experience preferred).
- Experience building scalable HR infrastructure (SOPs, policies, manager resources).
