Summary
Apple Ads Engineering is hiring early-career software engineers to build privacy-preserving, user-centric ad technology at global scale across surfaces like the App Store, Apple News, Stocks, and Apple TV. The role focuses on backend services and large-scale data infrastructure to deliver low-latency, optimized advertising experiences while maintaining Apple’s privacy standards.
What you'll do
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of backend services and data pipelines.
- Write clean, reliable, and efficient code in Java, Scala, C++, or similar languages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Product Management, Data, SRE, etc.) to design systems that support ads use cases from prototype through production.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Apply and learn best practices for building scalable, secure, low-latency systems.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s a plus).
At least 1 year of relevant experience (including internships, research, or equivalent projects).
Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, problem solving).
Programming experience with Java, Scala, C++, or similar language (Java preferred).
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or equivalent) and strong debugging skills.
Preferred: experience with distributed systems or data processing tools (Kafka, Spark, Flink), exposure to relational and/or non-relational databases, and interest in fast-paced collaborative environments; ad tech exposure is a plus but not required.
