Summary

Meta’s People Service Delivery (PSD) team supports scalable people programs and services across the employee lifecycle. The People Specialist, Payroll partners with global payroll leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, timely payroll inputs and smooth payroll/timekeeping operations while driving scalable process improvements.

What you'll do

  • Manage scaled payroll-related operations and build strategic partnerships with suppliers and cross-functional teams (People Ops, Payroll Finance, Timekeeping/Scheduling).

  • Lead complex projects and drive execution for Payroll, Timekeeping, and Scheduling operations.

  • Own data hygiene for in-region payroll inputs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for recurring payroll activities.

  • Ensure quality assurance for vendor-managed processes and prevent recurring delivery issues.

  • Provide timely, accurate updates to leads and stakeholders and meet agreed deadlines with urgency.

  • Improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency through metrics-driven supplier engagements aligned to organizational goals.

  • Navigate global requirements and regulatory constraints (with guidance from Global Payroll Leads) to deliver programs in a fast-moving environment.

  • Partner with People Ops, Benefits/Compensation, Finance, Legal, and Tax to drive consistent, repeatable, measurable outcomes.

  • Document, improve, and maintain systems, workflows, and playbooks across vendor and internal stakeholder teams.

  • Partner with HR Tech and Engineering to drive automation and continuous process improvement across integrated systems and suppliers.

  • Develop strategies for location planning, privacy/security, contingency planning, and audit readiness.

  • Influence end-to-end process improvements for scalability and automation to support growth.

  • Drive change management for new systems, programs, and process changes.

  • Analyze and report metrics on people systems activities to support strategic decisions and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in People Operations or Business Operations in a fast-paced environment supporting operations across multiple countries, using data-driven insights and implementing improvements at scale.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or operations discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Knowledge of HR best practices and legislative/regulatory constraints; experience executing programs to meet these requirements.

  • Experience meeting SLAs and KPIs while ensuring data quality across multiple systems.

  • Ability to drive decisions under ambiguity and time pressure; strong analytical and reasoning skills.

  • Self-directed execution across multiple teams; systems mindset in large-scale, critical environments.

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to execute tactically; strong problem solving and workflow design skills.

  • Proven cross-functional collaboration and relationship-building skills (in-person and remote).

  • Highly effective communication, including simplifying complex concepts for stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with a track record of delivering timely results.

  • Preferred: SOX/internal audit familiarity; payroll/shared services experience; tech industry familiarity; North America/Latin America HR or payroll exposure; LEAN tools; presentation preparation; requirements analysis; time tracking systems and solution design; adaptability in shifting priorities; supplier performance oversight; experience with multi-region payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, ADP).

Conditions

  • Compensation range: $113,000/year to $170,000/year base, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

  • Works closely with global and cross-functional stakeholders; supports multi-region operations.
