Family Engagement & Hospitality Lead

Summary

The Boston Celtics are hiring a Family Engagement & Hospitality Lead to support Basketball Operations, players, and their families by delivering an exceptional Celtics Experience. The role serves as a primary liaison and high-touch hospitality partner, ensuring families feel supported and seamlessly connected to the organization. This position reports to the Vice President of Team Operations & Organizational Growth and collaborates across Basketball Operations.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for players’ families, agents, managers, and personal assistants.
  • Provide bespoke, proactive support by anticipating needs and delivering tailored solutions to foster an inclusive team environment.
  • Coordinate the VIP Game Day Experience, including onsite management of family rooms, guest passes, and pre/post-game arena activities.
  • Monitor and recognize milestones (e.g., birthdays, anniversaries, achievements) with personalized gestures for players and staff.
  • Plan and execute monthly in-season event programming for players’ families and children.
  • Partner with the Celtics’ Community Engagement group and support philanthropic efforts connected to players.
  • Lead welcoming and onboarding for newly drafted or acquired players and their families.
  • Act as relocation concierge for players’ families and new Basketball Operations staff, coordinating transition needs and resources.
  • Maintain welcome packets and local guides to support integration into the Boston community and NBA life.
  • Facilitate league-wide program coordination and logistics; streamline NBPA communications and support operational needs.
  • Oversee TD Garden family room operations, including food services and childcare coordination.
  • Stay current on NBA and NBPA policies and programs related to families; help track and organize compliance documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3–5 years of experience in sports, entertainment, or high-end hospitality (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and modern messaging/scheduling platforms.
  • Ability to design program plans and associated budgets proactively for successful execution.
  • High discretion and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Exceptional active listening, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to manage conflict with poise.
  • Adaptability and sound decision-making in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with curiosity and initiative.
  • Professionalism and integrity consistent with representing a premier global brand.

Conditions

  • Full-time, exempt role.
  • Flexible hours required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays aligned with the NBA season.
  • Travel with the team as needed during Summer League and the Playoffs.
  • Annual salary range stated as $70,000–$105,000 (converted to an approximate monthly USD figure in the salary field).
