Summary

GoFundMe is hiring a Global Head of People Operations to build and own the operational infrastructure supporting a ~850-person global organization. This role treats People Ops like a product, improving the employee experience end-to-end through scalable systems, automation, and data-driven insights. You will report to the Chief People Officer and help define the “GoFundMe Way.”

What you'll do

Systems & Infrastructure

  • Lead an immediate-priority HRIS migration through ambiguity and evolving requirements.
  • Own and continuously improve the HRIS and broader people technology stack.
  • Design and deploy self-service AI agents and automations to reduce friction and speed employee support.
  • Ensure data integrity, compliance, and coherent architecture across people systems; build trust with Finance, Legal, and the People team through rigor and clear communication.

Employee Lifecycle Operations

  • Audit existing People Ops processes, challenge legacy workflows, and redesign what matters.
  • Architect scalable, user-centric lifecycle processes from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Own LOA administration, immigration compliance, background checks, contractor management, and offboarding.
  • Drive people system configuration/management with Talent, People Partners, L&D, Total Rewards, and cross-functional partners (Finance, Payroll IT, Legal).
  • Partner with People Partners to run performance and engagement cycles, including systems setup and communication planning.
  • Manage global compliance and people-ops risk in close partnership with Legal.
  • Support multi-country operations ensuring compliance, payroll coordination, and durable processes across jurisdictions.

People Analytics & Insights

  • Own the People analytics strategy across headcount, attrition, engagement, and workforce planning; translate data into executive-ready insights.
  • Maintain high data integrity and deliver accessible, reliable reporting.
  • Partner with Finance, Talent Acquisition, and executive leadership on strategic and forward-looking workforce planning.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8–12 years in People Operations/HR (or closely related) with ownership across systems, compliance, analytics, and full employee lifecycle operations.
  • Scale fluency: Proven experience building People Ops infrastructure in globally scaled organizations (~850–3,000+ employees).
  • Technical acumen: Rippling experience strongly preferred; strong proficiency with modern HRIS platforms required, including leading HRIS migrations and working with/diagnosing data models.
  • AI-forward mindset: Demonstrated interest in automation and building self-service support into People Ops workflows.
  • Data + empathy: Ability to design human-centered processes while using data to inform decisions and accountability.
  • Communication & influence: Ability to synthesize complexity for executives; strong employee-comms skills (positioning, timing, channels) for people programs.
  • Global expertise: Experience with multi-jurisdiction employment issues, coordinated global payroll, and navigating cultural/time-zone differences.

Conditions

  • Work arrangement: Flexible remote work or from US hubs; in-person time typically at hubs for planning, problem-solving, and team building.
  • Hubs mentioned: San Francisco and San Diego; role targeted for the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Compensation: $250,000–$320,000 annual cash + equity and benefits (varies by level and location).
