Summary
Martell Media (Martell Group) builds people, brands, and ventures across Media, B2B SaaS, and AI. The Video Editor will transform raw footage into story-driven videos that create emotion and action while partnering closely with the Creative Director and media team.
What you'll do
- Edit short- and long-form videos for YouTube, social media, podcasts, and online courses.
- Apply transitions, titles, captions, color correction, audio cleanup, and pacing aligned to platform best practices.
- Use creative storytelling techniques to elevate raw footage into compelling narratives.
- Add motion graphics, music, and sound design consistent with brand voice.
- Collaborate with directors, producers, and talent to deliver final cuts; contribute to brainstorming, scripting, and content layout.
- Participate in reviews, feedback sessions, and postmortems.
- Organize and manage media libraries, B-roll, templates, and other assets; maintain brand consistency across content.
- Export and deliver final videos in multiple formats and resolutions for different channels.
- Stay current with editing and platform trends (YouTube and short-form).
- Use performance metrics (CTR, watch time, engagement) to iterate on editing approach.
- Ensure projects ship on time and meet internal creative and strategic standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience editing video for online platforms.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Audition, or comparable tools.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating both short-form (e.g., reels) and long-form (e.g., YouTube) editing.
- Deep understanding of pacing, structure, and storytelling.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Kelowna, BC.
- Strong time management and file organization skills.
- Comfortable working in fast feedback loops with multiple concurrent deadlines.
Preferred:
- Experience editing for personal brands, coaches, or high-growth media startups.
- Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or color grading workflows.
- Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Interest in personal development, entrepreneurship, or the creator economy.
