Proofreader

Robert Half is seeking contract Proofreaders to review and edit documents written in various European languages. The role focuses on ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to language and style guidelines in a flexible, short-term remote engagement.

• Review and edit documents to correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors.
• Ensure content accuracy, clarity, and consistency with language and style guidelines.
• Collaborate with the team to resolve questions or discrepancies in documents.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive or proprietary information.
• Meet strict deadlines and project timelines while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Adapt to varying project requirements and language nuances to deliver precise proofreading.
• Provide feedback on document quality and suggest improvements as needed.
• Communicate progress updates and resolve issues promptly.

• At least 1 year of experience in proofreading or language editing.
• Proficiency in one or more European languages (e.g., Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, Greek, Icelandic, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Norwegian, Polish, Slovak, Slovene, Swedish).
• Strong command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and language conventions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify errors quickly and accurately.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with various document formatting styles and guidelines.
• Experience working with sensitive or confidential information (preferred).
