Summary
PLANEKS is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to build and ship production-ready web applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript. The role focuses on translating design into polished UI, establishing frontend patterns, and helping the team level up their skills through mentorship and code review.
What you'll do
Day-to-day:
- Build and ship front-end features in React/Next.js/TypeScript
- Translate Figma designs into polished, production-ready UI
- Care about visual details and interaction patterns
Ongoing:
- Build reusable components that become the team's shared vocabulary
- Write clean front-end code that serves as an example for others
- Identify UI inconsistencies and fix them proactively
- Push work to high standards before QA
Over time:
- Establish front-end patterns and conventions for consistency
- Contribute to component library development
- Help other developers level up through code reviews and structured code
Requirements
Required:
- 5+ years building production web applications with React and TypeScript
- Strong product/UI sensibility with attention to spacing, visual hierarchy, typography, and interaction details
- Experience with Next.js
- Advanced CSS skills
- Comfortable building interaction patterns: transitions, loading states, empty states, error states, skeleton screens
- Ability to translate Figma designs accurately and fill in gaps with good judgment
- Performance awareness: bundle size, rendering costs, lazy loading, optimization
- MUI (Material UI) theming and customization
- TanStack Query or similar async state management
- Formik or equivalent form library
- Docker fundamentals and container-based workflows
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
Nice to Have:
- Accessibility awareness (ARIA patterns, keyboard navigation, screen reader basics)
- Animation proficiency with understanding of easing and timing
- Backend comfort (Python/Django)
- Experience with data-heavy SaaS (tables, filters, dashboards, complex statuses)
- Experience building or contributing to component library or design system
- Significant overlap with EST hours
