The K-12 Literacy Curriculum Specialist supports the Mountain West territory by partnering with sales and product teams to advance literacy products through the full sales cycle and provide post-sales activation. The role focuses on building relationships with education decision makers and delivering presentations, trainings, and professional learning to drive successful adoption and customer satisfaction.
What you'll do
- Contribute to meeting and exceeding revenue targets for the Mountain West territory.
- Create and deliver presentations across key customer touchpoints (exhibits/conferences, workshops, meetings/campaigns, sales presentations, pilot trainings, program activations).
- Develop and maintain relationships with PK-12 decision makers (school, district, regional, and state stakeholders).
- Gather customer feedback and relay insights to sales, product, and marketing teams to improve offerings and strategy.
- Maintain current expertise in Savvas products/services through certifications and training.
- Deliver product activation training for new and existing customer accounts.
- Facilitate professional learning workshops for districts and at conferences.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of Savvas literacy solutions (print and digital) and align solutions to customer needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, services, product management) to resolve issues and ensure customer success.
- Provide timely, high-quality customer service throughout the sales cycle and after activation.
- Monitor and manage timekeeping and expenses in accordance with travel and expense policies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of K-12 education experience, including classroom teaching experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Specialty training or advanced certification preferred.
- Experience in PK-12 literacy education with strong understanding of curriculum standards/frameworks, and knowledge of assessment and intervention practices.
- Ability to deliver engaging, persuasive presentations to large and small groups; strong public speaking skills.
- Experience engaging with district administrators and education decision makers.
- Sales-oriented mindset with ability to support and influence revenue outcomes; experience selling/servicing in the education market is desirable.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills; ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong technology skills (PC/Mac), proficiency with presentation software/hardware, whiteboard technology, and 1:1 devices for virtual and in-person multimedia delivery.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus (not required).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
Conditions
- Location: Mountain West territory coverage (includes Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Nevada, Utah, South Dakota, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming).
- Preferred residence: Denver, CO or Phoenix, AZ.
- Travel: 40–60% travel within the territory, including overnight stays; occasional travel to other territories.
- Schedule: Hours may extend beyond traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends; flexibility and short-notice travel changes required.
