Associate Data Scientist - Operations Research

Wheely is hiring an Associate Data Scientist with an Operations Research background to join their Pricing or Matching team. You will own the complete process from research through production deployment of ML and optimization models for high-impact problems like dynamic pricing and marketplace matching.

• Collaborate with engineers, Data Scientists, designers, and product managers to solve ambiguous problems
• Research, prototype, and ship ML and optimization models into production
• Continuously improve existing algorithms and identify opportunities for new ones

• Master's or PhD in Operations Research, Mathematics, Management Science or closely related field with focus on optimization
• Strong foundation in mathematical optimization or mathematical programming
• Solid knowledge of probability and statistics
• Excellent programming skills in Python and core ML tooling (SQL, PyTorch, etc.)
• Nice to have: Exposure to dynamic pricing, auction design, or marketplace matching problems
