Middle Android Developer

Summary

Ajax Systems is a full-cycle hardware and software company based in Kyiv that develops IoT security devices, firmware, server infrastructure, and mobile applications. We are seeking a Middle Android Developer to join our team and continue evolving our flagship product used by around 400 million active users worldwide. You will have the opportunity to work on established products and help launch new products from scratch.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain Android mobile applications for Ajax Systems' IoT security products
  • Work with Kotlin and Java to build high-quality user interfaces using Jetpack Compose
  • Implement efficient data storage solutions using ORM frameworks and Android Jetpack Components
  • Collaborate with firmware, backend, and product teams to deliver seamless user experiences
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high development standards
  • Take part in the full mobile development lifecycle from conception to release

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional Android development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin
  • Deep understanding of Android SDK, layouts, views, activities, fragments, and their lifecycles
  • Practical experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Jetpack Compose
  • Experience with ORM frameworks and Android Jetpack Components
  • Strong knowledge of Git and Gradle
  • Understanding of OOP principles and design patterns
  • Knowledge of the full mobile development lifecycle
  • Passion for software engineering and continuous improvement
  • Plus: Unit testing, video streaming experience, MVVM/MVI patterns, GitHub Actions, third-party libraries and APIs like Firebase
