Senior Director of Operations

The Senior Director of Operations leads internal management and operational functions, guiding operational goals while improving employee and client experience through strong leadership and process maturity.

What you'll do

  • Lead company-wide operational functions in alignment with core values and strategic priorities; contribute to corporate leadership decisions within the Office of the President.
  • Manage and develop leaders (Account Directors, Team Leads, Managers) through mentorship, coaching, performance evaluations, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Oversee a large portfolio of prime and subcontract contracts/programs; run structured client meetings, capture feedback, and implement improvement plans.
  • Analyze operations and performance to identify cost reduction, program improvements, and policy changes; drive organizational maturity through repeatable processes.
  • Develop and own KPIs across functional areas; provide guidance to managers and support decision-making to improve profitability.
  • Direct/implement business policies, objectives, and activities to ensure continuity of operations, productivity, and returns on investment.
  • Review leaders’ MSR submissions and present summaries/recommendations to the President.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets; monitor project budgets to meet financial objectives.
  • Partner with Finance to audit invoicing across platforms and drive follow-up actions on delayed invoices.
  • Partner with HR on workforce planning, employee communications, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning; ensure people-management compliance.
  • Draft subcontract agreements for final review and oversee contractors/subcontractors for quality and specification adherence.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping (including T&M contracts) and approve non-headquarters operational payroll.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the organization.
  • Manage operational risk; create action plans to identify, report, and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare and present reports on activities, expenses, budgets, and relevant government statutes/rulings.
  • As needed, support maintenance of corporate certifications for government contracting (e.g., CMMC, ISO) and provide operational support to subsidiary Logis-Tech; develop packages for new/repeatable solutions.

Requirements

  • Authorization/Clearance: U.S. work authorization and U.S. citizenship required; must be eligible to pass and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust background check (HSPD-12).
  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required; Master’s degree/MBA preferred.
  • Experience:10+ years in government contracting/professional services operations or related experience; 10+ years of leadership experience; experience managing teams, government contracts, and PMO/project portfolios strongly desired.
  • Domain:Government contracting experience required; strong knowledge of real estate and/or facilities support highly preferred.
  • Skills:Operational and strategic leadership; client service and stakeholder management; KPI development; budgeting/financial oversight; process/SOP development; risk management; strong ethics and judgment; organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent written/verbal communication and presentation; ability to mentor, train, delegate, and maintain confidentiality; knowledge of employment laws and government regulations.
  • Tools/Certifications:Proficient in Microsoft Office; PMP or equivalent desired; familiarity/support for CMMC and ISO certifications as needed.

Conditions

  • Employment type:Full-time.
  • Work arrangement:Remote; some travel may be required.
