Platform Team Lead

Summary

Equals 5 is seeking a Platform Team Lead to own the architecture and technical evolution of their web platform while leading a small team of full-stack engineers. In this role, you will oversee the complete delivery cycle from database design and REST API architecture to Vue.js interfaces, establishing engineering standards and mentoring developers in an AI-first environment.

What you'll do

Own the architecture and technical direction of the Equals 5 web platform (Laravel + Vue.js). Lead a team of 2-3 full-stack engineers through code reviews, sprint planning, mentorship, and career development. Drive feature delivery end-to-end from API design to Vue.js components. Ensure code quality and test coverage across the full stack. Design and evolve the REST API layer including versioning, authentication, and documentation. Optimize application performance through query tuning, caching, and bundle optimization. Collaborate with Product and Design to translate requirements into scalable solutions. Manage technical debt and drive modernization of legacy code.

Requirements

5+ years of full-stack web development with PHP and JavaScript. Deep knowledge of Laravel (Eloquent, queues, events, middleware, service providers, PHPUnit/Pest testing). Strong Vue.js 3 skills (Composition API, Pinia, Vue Router) and TypeScript. 2+ years leading a team with code review and mentorship experience. Solid relational database design and PostgreSQL expertise (query optimization, migrations, indexing). REST API design experience (versioning, error handling, JWT/OAuth, pagination). Docker and CI/CD familiarity. Nice-to-have: GCP/AWS/Azure, Vite, SSR, micro-frontends, WebSockets, Pulumi/Terraform, healthcare/pharma ad-tech knowledge, Playwright/Cypress.
