Summary
KidStrong Henderson is a child development training center helping parents build stronger, smarter, and more athletic kids from walking age through 11 years old. The Childrens Coach role leads science-based classes focused on brain, physical, and character development while engaging both kids and parents. The purpose is to deliver the KidStrong curriculum and create a fun, safe, motivating experience that supports each child’s growth.
What you'll do
- Coach classes of 6–15 children (approximately 12 months to 11 years old) using the KidStrong curriculum provided by HQ.
- Ensure classes start and end on schedule and maintain the appropriate pace of the curriculum.
- Greet students and parents/guardians individually before and at the beginning of class.
- Lead classes with a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor.
- Demonstrate exercises and manage safe implementation and proper technique.
- Work hands-on with kids as needed to ensure safety and correct form.
- Assist parents of students ages three and younger with the direction and flow of class.
- Maintain cleanliness of the center (lobby, bathrooms, floors), including trash removal, sweeping/mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing mats.
- Use the KS Coach’s App to record class data and maintain records for parents (e.g., attendance, awards).
- Communicate professionally with coworkers via Slack, including periodic message checks when not in centers.
- Complete required training through FranConnect and obtain certified status through the HQ Training and Certification team.
- Attend monthly staff programming meetings and other mandatory staff meetings as required.
- Learn and manage Coach KidStrong Academy sessions held during school breaks (e.g., winter/summer breaks).
Requirements
- Passion for working with children.
- Athletic or coaching experience; experience coaching kids 12 months to 11 years old preferred.
- Comfortable speaking with parents/guardians and explaining the rationale behind the KidStrong curriculum.
- Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and body mechanics.
- CPR certification.
- Positive, motivating, effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-starter mindset and ability to get tasks done.
- Ability to work in a physically intensive environment (moving through classes and lifting/moving equipment up to 25 pounds).
- Pediatric OT/PT experience is a plus but not required.
Conditions
- Compensation: $18.00–$23.00 per hour.
- Schedule: classes typically weekdays 9am–11am and evenings until 7pm; weekends typically 8am through lunch/noon.
- Part-time or full-time options with flexibility depending on studio needs.
