Summary
SKELAR is a venture builder creating international product IT companies. We are seeking a Privacy Counsel to join our Legal team, supporting a consumer wellness product by shaping and maintaining privacy and data protection frameworks across the product lifecycle in markets including the USA, EU, and UK.
What you'll do
- Advise on privacy and data protection requirements for a consumer-facing wellness product (GDPR/UK GDPR, ePrivacy/cookies, US state privacy laws including CCPA/CPRA)
- Embed privacy-by-design in product development through feature reviews, data minimization decisions, retention, lawful bases/consent, and sensitive data handling
- Conduct and maintain DPIAs/PIAs, LIAs, data mapping, and RoPA inputs
- Draft, review, and maintain privacy-related documents including Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, consent disclosures, and in-app notices
- Review marketing and growth initiatives for privacy compliance across tracking technologies, attribution, analytics, and ad-tech
- Support vendor and partnership privacy through DPA drafting/reviewing and privacy clause negotiations
- Support data subject requests and build scalable internal processes
- Monitor privacy regulatory developments and deliver privacy education to cross-functional teams
Requirements
- 1-2+ years of experience in a law firm, Big 4, or in-house legal/compliance role with privacy focus
- Law degree from a Ukrainian or foreign university (or currently in final year of studies)
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Practical understanding of privacy principles and ability to apply them in product and marketing contexts
- Strong ownership mindset: action-oriented, well-organized, self-starter
- Ability to translate complex legal requirements into clear business-friendly guidance
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with cross-functional stakeholders
- Plus: GDPR implementation experience, US privacy/health-data knowledge, cookies/trackers experience, digital health/wellness exposure, privacy certifications (CIPP/E, CIPP/US), moot court participation
