Senior Node.js Engineer

Commit Offshore is seeking a Senior Node.js Engineer to join their growing engineering team. In this leadership role, you will design, implement, and scale highly performant systems using cloud infrastructure, primarily AWS. You will architect complex microservices, ensure system scalability, and mentor junior developers while thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

• Lead architecture and design of high-performance, scalable, and fault-tolerant Node.js applications and microservices in AWS environments
• Utilize AWS services including EC2, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, and SQS to ensure applications are highly available, secure, and performant
• Build and manage distributed, high-load microservices that scale effectively and handle large volumes of concurrent traffic
• Optimize Node.js applications for performance under high load, ensuring minimal latency and maximum throughput
• Implement advanced multithreading techniques to enhance system performance and concurrency
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to industry best practices and design patterns
• Provide mentorship to junior developers

• At least 5 years of experience as a Backend Developer
• In-depth knowledge and experience developing APIs and microservices
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript and Node.js frameworks such as Express
• Understanding of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications
• Experience with various data storage solutions such as Redis and MongoDB
• Experience with queuing solutions such as RabbitMQ and SQS
• Experience implementing automated testing modules and unit tests
• Proficient with code versioning tools such as Git
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS and GCP
• Experience working with Linux
• Experience with CI/CD processes
• Desired: Docker and Kubernetes, advanced monitoring and logging tools, security best practices
