Clinical research Coordinator
Summary
New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is a patient-centered oncology and hematology organization delivering cancer care and supporting innovative research. The Clinical Research Coordinator enrolls and supports study participants across multiple NYCBS locations, ensuring protocol adherence, accurate data capture, and timely safety/regulatory reporting.
What you'll do
Enroll participants into clinical interventional or observational studies.
Obtain informed consent by explaining study procedures, risks, and benefits and ensuring participant understanding.
Coordinate and schedule research participant appointments efficiently.
Coordinate research-related care during appointments by collaborating with other NYCBS departments; assist at visits and oversee relevant orders and activities.
Collect complete and accurate participant data (e.g., medical history, medication review, physical exams, lab tests, ECG, adverse event review, and other protocol-required assessments).
Enter and maintain study data in systems such as EMR, Verily, Onco Trials, Paradigm, and patient update spreadsheets.
Document serious adverse events (SAEs) and protocol deviations and report to the sponsor within 24 hours when applicable.
Provide event summaries to the Regulatory team for timely reporting to regulatory authorities.
Attend Site Initiation Visits (SIVs), research meetings, and sponsor-specified sessions.
Requirements
STEM background required.
Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
Experience with EMR systems.
High attention to detail and professional conduct.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel between NYCBS locations.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Conditions
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 days per week; 8.5-hour days within 7:00am–6:00pm.
Location type: Float role across Central Park, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.
Compensation: Competitive salary starting at $30/hour (based on experience).
