Elizabeth Guzman (VA HD-22)

Democracy Summer is a Democratic fellowship program that trains and deploys young organizers to support campaigns and advance pro-democracy and voting-rights work. This role is a Democracy Summer Fellow placed with Elizabeth Guzman’s campaign for Virginia House of Delegates (22nd District) to participate in organizing activities and a structured virtual curriculum.

• Participate in voter registration and political organizing activities with the assigned campaign.

• Conduct field and outreach activities such as door knocking, phone banks, attending rallies, and political events.

• Attend virtual seminars, discussions, and speaker sessions as part of the Democracy Summer curriculum.

• Join interactive virtual workshops (Zoom) at an assigned weekly time based on campaign and region.

• Complete a mix of primarily in-person campaign organizing with some remote responsibilities, as determined by the campaign schedule.

• Must be at least 16 years old.

• Ability to commit 15–20 hours per week for the program duration.

• Commitment to attend at least 4 hours per week of virtual seminars, discussions, and workshops.

• Commitment to complete an additional 10–15 hours per week of organizing with the campaign (primarily in-person, some remote).

• Application materials required: resume, cover letter, and short-answer responses.

• Program dates: Monday, June 22, 2026 to Friday, August 7, 2026.

• Time commitment: 15–20 hours/week.

• Weekly virtual speaker session: Mondays 12pm–2pm ET (9am–11am PT).

• Additional 2-hour interactive Zoom workshop scheduled during the week (assigned time varies by campaign/region).

• Organizing work is primarily in-person with some remote responsibilities; schedules vary by campaign.

• Stipend: minimum $575 for the program (campaign-funded).

• Priority application deadline: Wednesday, April 15, 2026; applicants notified by end of April if submitted by deadline.
