Curriculum Specialist (K-12 Literacy) - Mountain West

Summary

Savvas Learning Company is a global education company producing K-12 learning solutions across print and digital platforms. The K-12 Literacy Curriculum Specialist supports the Mountain West territory by partnering with sales and product teams to drive adoption of Savvas literacy programs from prospecting through post-sale activation and customer success.

What you'll do

  • Contribute to achieving and exceeding team revenue targets in the Mountain West territory.
  • Create and deliver presentations across key customer touchpoints (exhibits/conferences, workshops, meetings/campaigns, sales presentations, pilot trainings, program activations).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with PK-12 and district/state/regional decision makers.
  • Gather customer feedback and relay insights to sales, product, and marketing teams.
  • Maintain current expertise on Savvas products and services through certifications and trainings.
  • Provide product activation training for new and existing customer accounts.
  • Facilitate professional learning workshops for districts and at conferences.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of Savvas literacy solutions (print and digital).
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, services, product management) to align support and resolve customer satisfaction issues.
  • Provide timely, high-quality customer service throughout the sales cycle and after activation to ensure customer success.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of K-12 education experience, including classroom teaching.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Specialty training or advanced certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of PK-12 literacy curriculum standards/frameworks, assessment, and intervention practices.
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations and product orientations to large and small groups.
  • Experience engaging with district administrators and decision makers; knowledge of competitive landscape preferred.
  • Sales-oriented mindset with ability to support campaigns and help meet revenue targets.
  • Strong organization, communication, and time management skills; ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • Strong technology skills (PC or Mac), including presentation software/hardware, whiteboard technology, and 1:1 devices; ability to deliver multimedia presentations virtually and in-person.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus (not required).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

Conditions

  • Territory coverage: Mountain West (includes AK, AZ, CO, ID, KS, MT, ND, NE, NV, UT, SD, OR, WA, WY).
  • Travel: 40–60% within the territory, including overnight stays; work may include evenings and weekends; occasional travel to other territories.
  • Schedule flexibility required to adjust travel plans on short notice.
