Summary
Design Observer is hiring a Designer to support senior team members across a range of brand and design projects. The role focuses on executing high-quality visual design for print and digital deliverables while helping carry projects from concept through production.
What you'll do
Support senior team members with design projects from concept research through design implementation.
Execute design direction on projects including logo/branding, signage, packaging, digital design, and print collateral.
Develop innovative design solutions and contribute to the evolution of existing brand images.
Provide design guidance to junior-level team members when prompted.
Conduct client meetings and presentations when prompted.
Communicate design thinking to non-design audiences and take art direction effectively.
Assist with print production and coordinate approved design work.
Manage timing and deliverables for project work.
Coordinate with vendors and remain hands-on through production to completion.
Provide professional, clear, and friendly assistance to clients.
Work calmly and efficiently under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
Requirements
3-5 years of design experience.
BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent experience.
Strong eye for photography, design, and typography.
Familiarity with current design trends and best practices for print and digital work.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud.
Skills in typography, layout, hierarchy, and branding.
Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable collaborating with and taking direction from senior team members.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage timelines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Critical thinking and creative problem-solving; able to troubleshoot without compromising design standards.
Customer-service focus with a personable demeanor; positive attitude and self-starter mentality.
Comfort with ownership, accountability, and leadership when needed.
