Backend Engineer NestJS/Node.js - Full Stack

Next Gen CR is building intelligent gateway infrastructure for payment routing and transaction orchestration across multiple business verticals. They are seeking a backend engineer to join their core platform team in a full-time role focused on building scalable financial operations systems.

• Start on integrations and adapters for payment and financial systems
• Own a domain and grow into owning core gateway systems including Ledger, Payments, and Routing
• Design and implement REST APIs and service architecture
• Build transaction orchestration and payment routing infrastructure
• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL databases with strong SQL implementation

• NestJS / Node.js + TypeScript expertise
• PostgreSQL and strong SQL skills
• REST API design and service architecture knowledge
• Understanding of DDD or hexagonal architecture patterns
• Docker, Git, and CI/CD fundamentals
• Clean code practices and testing mindset
• Nice to have: Payment systems experience, financial infrastructure knowledge, Laravel, Redis, Temporal.io
• Ability to demonstrate shipped backend systems

Schedule: Full-time role (45+ hours/week), not a short-term gig

Timezone: EU-based team. Americas candidates must work mornings to overlap EU hours with minimum 4 hours daily overlap (9am-6pm CET)

Compensation: Performance-based, grows with demonstrated capabilities rather than rigid pay bands
