Head of Engineering

Devart is a Ukrainian multi-product company building powerful tools for database management and data connectivity trusted by 500,000+ users. Mobion is their cloud-based white-label ride-hailing platform supporting operators in 6+ countries with 20M+ rides handled. As Head of Engineering, you will transform engineering into a strategic growth engine, architecting scalable technology and building a high-performance organization.

• Define and own long-term technical vision aligned with Mobion's growth strategy and translate business objectives into scalable architecture
• Lead high-level architectural decisions for distributed, real-time ride-hailing ecosystem including dispatch, mobile apps, admin tools, and APIs
• Drive AI integration strategy including demand prediction, dynamic pricing, smart dispatch, fraud detection, and AI-assisted development
• Own hiring, onboarding, retention strategies, and define competency frameworks and career paths for engineering talent
• Set KPIs for engineering leads, optimize SDLC for predictable delivery, quality, and reliability
• Manage engineering resources, budgets, and vendor relationships
• Act as escalation point for critical incidents and ensure compliance with security and data protection standards
• Foster culture of ownership, accountability, and technical excellence across teams

• 5+ years software engineering experience with 2+ years in senior leadership role (VP Engineering, CTO, Head of Engineering)
• Experience with high-load systems or ride-hailing/logistics domain preferred
• Ability to translate business objectives into technical strategy and long-term roadmaps
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA, DevOps) and managing capacity allocation
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies and process optimization
• Architectural-level understanding of Node.js, React, and microservices
• Experience planning technical budgets, infrastructure costs, and engineering resources
• Knowledge of AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, scalability and reliability principles
• Strong soft skills: ownership, accountability, cross-functional teamwork, strategic thinking, analytical and systems mindset

Schedule & Location: Hybrid work arrangement with option to work remotely or from one of 4 offices
