Adjunct Faculty, Educational Leadership

The Adjunct Faculty, Educational Leadership role supports and enhances the student learning experience through online instruction, service, and ongoing professional development under the guidance of the department chair.

• Interact with students in a professional manner and facilitate a safe, productive online learning environment.
• Respond promptly to student questions, clarification requests, discussion posts, and outreach to inactive students as needed.
• Oversee course quality by reviewing functionality and content to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Enhance course content by integrating personal professional experience and insights.
• Monitor and provide feedback on student assignments in accordance with college policies.
• Synthesize and report student performance data in a timely manner.
• Support program and institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Promote ethical conduct and address plagiarism/copyright issues, including reporting infractions using established procedures.
• Direct students to supplemental resources to support skill development.
• Collaborate with colleagues and leadership, including attending required meetings.
• Promote the vision, mission, and culture of the college within and beyond the institution.
• Pursue professional development via workshops, seminars, publications, networking, and professional societies to stay current on trends.
• Support and promote research to ensure quality of program and course offerings.

• Earned terminal degree(s) in a field associated with the department.
• Active Principal or Superintendent License.
• K-12 principal experience and a current principal license.
• At least 1+ year experience in teaching and leadership in a formal educational setting using traditional and non-traditional formats (higher education preferred).
• Demonstrated experience developing online/virtual professional relationships and collaborating in a virtual environment.
• Evidence of professional research and/or creative endeavors and expertise in the field.
• Strong communication, organization, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with a team; able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Commitment to ACE’s Impact mission and student satisfaction; ability to anticipate student needs.

• Remote/virtual-first work environment.
• Compensation is paid per student per course: generally $50 per student at bachelor/master levels and $126 per student at doctorate level; additional paid opportunities may include committees and course writing/development.
• Minimum internet bandwidth requirement at remote location: 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload; employee is responsible for purchasing and maintaining reliable internet service.
• AI tools may be used, but if AI accounts for more than 50% of work assignments/responsibilities it must be reported to a direct leader.
• Cannot consider candidates residing in Alaska, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, South Dakota, or Alabama.
• Requires regular real-time communication with students and ACE employees via online/electronic media.
