Backend Software Engineer (Mid-Level)

DualEntry is a fast-growing AI startup founded in 2024 that provides an AI-native ERP solution for accounting teams. As a Backend Software Engineer, you'll build and own critical backend systems and infrastructure that power DualEntry's financial automation platform, working with a world-class team from leading tech and finance companies.

• Own end-to-end execution for backend systems and infrastructure
• Build APIs, services, and real-time systems handling complex accounting logic
• Collaborate with founders, product, and frontend engineering to turn complex workflows into secure, performant systems
• Design, implement, and ship production-ready features at high speed
• Manage data migrations, scaling challenges, external integrations, and end-to-end reliability
• Drive measurable outcomes that accelerate product velocity and stability
• Deploy daily and iterate quickly on critical systems

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, SQL, ORMs, migrations, and schema design
• Experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure
• Strong API design and testing experience
• Understanding of CI/CD, deployment, and production readiness
• Proven track record in high-growth, high-ownership environments
• Ability to manage complex systems with evolving requirements
• Bonus: expertise in Python and modern frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
• Fluent English (C1+) with clear communication
• Pragmatic, hard-working mindset with high agency

Location: Remote - EU/LATAM countries with US ET timezone overlap (NYC HQ)
