People Operations Manager

Summary

OSEA Malibu is hiring a People Operations Manager to support day-to-day people operations and strengthen an inclusive, engaging employee experience. This role partners with managers, IT, and the People team to run onboarding/offboarding, engagement programs, and benefits administration while ensuring accurate HR data and compliance.

What you'll do

  • Support day-to-day People Operations activities and serve as a first point of contact for employee questions, escalating as needed.

  • Be in-office two days per week to provide hands-on HR/workplace support and proactively address employee needs.

  • Coordinate all-team meetings, company celebrations, and internal communications (including newsletter updates).

  • Provide light IT support such as basic troubleshooting and equipment coordination.

  • Maintain company distribution lists.

  • Support and execute engagement initiatives, social events, and team-building activities that reinforce culture and values.

  • Manage employee recognition programs (e.g., Employee of the Quarter/Sea Star Award), including nominations, coordination, and announcements.

  • Assist in planning celebrations, milestones, and morale-building moments; collect engagement feedback and share insights with the People team.

  • Coordinate end-to-end onboarding and offboarding (scheduling, documentation, system access, and equipment logistics) with hiring managers, IT, and People Operations.

  • Maintain and improve onboarding resources; gather and analyze 90-day new hire feedback to drive improvements.

  • Support offboarding with professionalism, ensuring compliance and a positive final experience.

  • Maintain accurate employee data, files, and documentation; track trainings/certifications/acknowledgements.

  • Execute routine audits for data accuracy and compliance; support interpretation and implementation of HR policies and guidelines.

  • Assist with benefits administration, leave management, and benefits-related inquiries.

Requirements

  • 3–4 years of experience in People Operations, HR, or a related role (preferred).

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proactive, service-oriented mindset with a passion for people and culture.

  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.

  • Comfort working with HR systems, reporting tools, and shared documentation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in the office at least 2 days per week.

  • Must be located in Los Angeles, California.

  • Must reside in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
