Summary
SKIMS is a global apparel brand creating technically innovative underwear, loungewear, shapewear, and essentials. The HR Generalist partners with employees and managers to support employee relations, performance and talent programs, and core HR operations as the company scales. The role focuses on delivering consistent HR guidance while enhancing culture, engagement, and operational excellence.
What you'll do
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, leave of absence, performance, and workplace concerns.
- Support managers with employee relations issues, documentation, and performance conversations; escalate complex matters when appropriate.
- Interpret and apply company policies, employment laws, and HR best practices to provide consistent guidance.
- Support performance review cycles by managing timelines, advising managers, and maintaining process integrity.
- Assist with salary review cycles and contribute to talent assessments and succession planning discussions.
- Partner with leaders on employee development and engagement initiatives.
- Support recruitment efforts with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers, including offer processes.
- Coordinate onboarding, new hire orientation, and onboarding logistics.
- Administer and support HR policies and procedures; help develop and roll out new HR processes as the business scales.
- Support payroll and benefits administration with People Operations and respond to employee questions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; flag risks and recommend updates.
- Maintain accurate employee records and protect confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Support People & Culture initiatives that reinforce values, inclusion, and employee engagement.
- Stay current on HR trends and propose improvements to processes, systems, and employee experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
- Strong working knowledge of California and federal employment laws.
- Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, and talent processes.
- HR certification (PHR/SPHR) preferred.
- Apparel, retail, or consumer brand experience preferred.
- Core competencies: sound judgment and empathy, operational excellence, business partnership mindset, strong communication, adaptability and continuous improvement.
Conditions
- Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 per year.
