Senior ML and AI Engineer

SPD Technology is seeking a Senior ML and AI Engineer to join their team working on PitchBook, a platform for investment professionals. The role involves designing and deploying generative AI models, processing large volumes of financial data, and mentoring junior team members.

• Design, develop, and fine-tune generative AI models using transformer architectures
• Leverage frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith to build automated pipelines and intelligent agents
• Process and analyze large volumes of unstructured data using embeddings and statistical modeling
• Build and deploy production-grade ML systems handling real-time, high-volume data processing
• Mentor junior team members and stay updated on trends in Agentic AI and generative systems
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to improve data management and support innovation
• Present complex analyses clearly and effectively to stakeholders

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related field
• 4+ years of production experience in ML with track record in transformer-based models
• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, Spacy)
• Experience with natural language processing and modern LLM-based techniques
• Full ML lifecycle knowledge: data preprocessing, training, evaluation, and monitoring
• Skilled with SQL and data extraction methods
• Excellent communicator and collaborator
• Experience solving complex problems with innovative thinking
• Nice to have: Exposure to financial services, investment banking, venture capital, or private equity
