Summary
ProCaps Laboratories is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead manufacturing and operational functions across two facilities, including ramping up a new site currently under construction. The role focuses on elevating quality, efficiency, compliance, and customer fulfillment in a highly regulated nutraceutical/food manufacturing environment.
What you'll do
- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations across two facilities to ensure safe, compliant, efficient production of high-quality products.
- Lead start-up, commissioning, and ramp-up of a new manufacturing facility, including staffing, training, process validation, and scale-up.
- Implement best practices to optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency and service levels.
- Standardize manufacturing standards, performance metrics, and operating practices across sites.
- Provide executive oversight of facilities operations (maintenance, utilities, capital projects, infrastructure) and ensure site readiness.
- Partner with Engineering and vendors on equipment installation, qualification, and ongoing facility readiness.
- Ensure facilities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee logistics and fulfillment (finished goods warehousing, order processing, pick/pack/ship, outbound transportation) to ensure timely, accurate delivery.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Customer Operations to support inventory flow, service levels, and customer satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control and operational standards; maintain inspection readiness.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, cGMP, FSMA and other applicable food/nutraceutical regulations enterprise-wide.
- Develop and execute operations/manufacturing strategies aligned with growth plans; drive continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.
- Support new product introductions and capacity expansion initiatives.
- Lead, develop, and coach manufacturing, facilities, and logistics leaders; build a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field (advanced degree or certifications preferred).
- Proven senior leadership experience in nutraceutical, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing within highly regulated environments (FDA, cGMP, FSMA); chocolate manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Senior Director or higher) with multi-site responsibility.
- Experience leading manufacturing operations including new facility start-ups, expansions, or greenfield builds.
- Strong background in operational excellence, quality systems, and regulatory compliance in fast-paced or growth-oriented environments.
- Working knowledge of facilities management, including capital projects, equipment installation, and site readiness.
- Experience overseeing or closely partnering with logistics and fulfillment operations (warehousing, order processing, shipping).
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and regulatory standards.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills; ability to inspire cross-functional teams.
- Strategic planning capability with a track record of improving efficiency, scalability, and service levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing/operations systems.
- Ability to translate vision into action through organizational design, processes, and performance systems aligned to 3–5 year goals.
- Proactive, results-driven mindset with ability to prioritize initiatives and lead operational excellence programs.
Conditions
- Work is performed primarily in a smoke-free manufacturing environment.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, and reaching; regularly lifting/moving up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
