People Operations Manager

Summary

Ancient Nutrition is hiring a People Operations Manager to strengthen organizational culture, employee engagement, retention, and HR compliance. The role leads people operations strategy and partners with executive leadership to attract, develop, and retain talent across the U.S. and Canada.

What you'll do

  • Execute and continuously improve the People Operations strategy to enhance HR effectiveness
  • Build a high-performance organizational foundation aligned with company values and growth goals
  • Partner with executive leadership on policies, compensation structures, organizational planning, and workforce initiatives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on people, culture, and performance; ensure strong internal HR processes and tools
  • Develop and implement recruitment and selection strategies for U.S. and Canada hiring
  • Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle including workforce planning, job descriptions/postings, ATS management, screening, interviewing, and offers
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding, including communications and company gifting (new hire kits, milestone gifts, holiday swag)
  • Develop retention initiatives and drive performance management (goal setting, reviews, coaching)
  • Lead culture and engagement initiatives including virtual/in-person events, company-wide programs, recognition, gifting, and rewards systems
  • Partner on training and development programs to support employee growth
  • Lead employee relations strategy and handle HR-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws in the U.S. and Canada; audit and maintain required documentation
  • Coordinate leave of absence communication, tracking, and documentation with HR Shared Services
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records; manage HR system updates and employee documentation
  • Develop and distribute communications related to hires, promotions, and terminations
  • Partner with HR Shared Services to ensure accurate payroll processing and manage changes in titles, status, and compensation
  • Support bonus plan development and compensation adjustments; serve as primary contact for timekeeping and benefits systems
  • Provide reporting and analysis on recruiting metrics, retention, engagement, surveys, and HR trends; deliver actionable people insights

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year university (required)
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience (required)
  • SHRM or PHR certification (preferred, not required)
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Strategic thinking, sound decision-making, and ability to operate across levels and cultures
  • Self-starter able to work effectively with little supervision; adaptable, creative, and flexible in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ADP proficiency (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
