People Operations Coordinator

The People Operations Coordinator supports the full employee lifecycle while ensuring HRIS data accuracy, compliance, and a consistent, high-trust employee experience as the organization grows.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, job changes, transfers, and employment status updates.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and digital personnel files within the HRIS.
  • Support leave of absence, accommodation, and return-to-work processes in partnership with senior People leadership.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions related to People Operations processes; escalate complex matters as needed.
  • Ensure clear, timely, and supportive communication throughout employee lifecycle moments.
  • Administer day-to-day HRIS (UKG) tasks, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Partner with Payroll to provide clean, timely data handoffs for payroll inputs.
  • Run audits and reports to identify discrepancies or data risks.
  • Assist with system testing, workflow updates, and documentation when processes evolve.
  • Support benefits enrollments, life events processing, and vendor coordination.
  • Assist with annual benefits renewal preparation, audits, and employee communications.
  • Support compensation and recognition processes through documentation and tracking approvals.
  • Support compliance activities aligned with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Prepare documentation for audits, internal reviews, and reporting requests.
  • Maintain People Ops policies, templates, and SOPs for clarity and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline or automate People Operations workflows.
  • Support cross-functional People projects and initiatives and contribute to a service-oriented team culture.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or HR administration in a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience working in an HRIS environment (UKG required).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets (filters, lookups, basic reporting).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting multi-state employee populations (preferred).
  • Experience supporting benefits administration (preferred).
  • Exposure to payroll-adjacent workflows or payroll data preparation (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Ability to work primarily seated using a computer for extended periods and communicate via video/phone/writing.
  • Occasional travel may be required; ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Conditions

  • Location: Hybrid if based in Nashville (onsite 1–2 days per week) or remote.
  • Remote schedule aligned to EST business hours; remote team members must be located within Central or Eastern time zones.
  • Exempt role; reports to the Chief People Officer.
  • Annual bonus potential (5%) based on company performance and individual impact.
