Head of Operations

A leading global manufacturer of custom capital equipment is hiring a Head of North America Operations to lead and optimize performance across seven manufacturing facilities. Reporting to the COO, this executive will drive operational excellence, strategic growth, and alignment across multiple brands and sites.

• Provide executive oversight for seven manufacturing facilities across North America and ensure consistent performance across all sites and brands.
• Lead and develop senior operations leaders (VP/Director level), building high-performing teams and mentoring leaders.
• Develop and implement North American operations strategies aligned to corporate objectives and translate goals into annual operating plans.
• Standardize manufacturing processes, production systems, KPIs, and operating rhythms across facilities.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Own operational budgets (OpEx) and conversion cost performance; provide input to CapEx planning and capacity investments.
• Improve on-time delivery, throughput, and capacity utilization; optimize inventory management and working capital efficiency.
• Champion safety-first culture and regulatory compliance; improve quality performance and reduce defects and warranty exposure.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

• 20+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience in capital equipment, machinery, or similar industries, including multi-site operations.

• Proven ability to lead leaders and drive alignment through senior executives (VP/Director level).

• Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, S&OP, and continuous improvement, including standardizing processes and KPIs across multiple sites.

• Demonstrated success improving efficiency, scalability, quality, and warranty outcomes.

• Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L, OpEx budgets, and conversion costs.

• Executive presence with strong communication and ability to partner with COO and cross-functional C-suite leaders.

• Ability to travel 40–60% of the time across North America.

• Location: Bethlehem, PA area or Dallas, TX area.

• Travel: approximately 50% (noted as 40–60%) across North America to manufacturing sites.
