People Operations Specialist
Summary
Avicado is a technology consultancy helping construction owners use cloud-based tools and data more effectively. The People Operations Specialist (People Operations Systems Manager) owns the operational side of the people lifecycle and HR systems (notably Rippling) to ensure accurate data, automated workflows, and smooth employee movement processes as the company scales.
What you'll do
Own operational execution and continuous improvement of the employee lifecycle: onboarding, role changes/transfers, compensation-related updates, and offboarding.
Coordinate across People & Talent, IT, Finance, Operations, and Consulting to ensure consistent lifecycle processes and handoffs.
Partner with IT on access management (software provisioning and permissions) aligned to org structure and compliance standards.
Administer and optimize Rippling as the company-wide source of truth for headcount, reporting, access, and lifecycle workflows.
Define, document, and ensure consistent execution of people movement workflows (onboarding, internal movement, offboarding).
Design and optimize cross-department workflows connecting Rippling with other systems (e.g., Slack, Toggl, Salesforce, Notion, Xero).
Identify and automate repetitive processes in Rippling (e.g., onboarding steps, department transfers, policy acknowledgments).
Reduce manual work via expanded Rippling workflows and automation tools (e.g., Zapier, n8n, Google Cloud).
Maintain accurate organizational/reporting structures and reliable people data across connected systems.
Provide standardized reporting and data exports for headcount planning, compensation processes, and operational decision-making.
Own and continuously improve documentation for people operations processes to set clarity and accountability standards.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in People Operations, HRIS, Business Operations, or a similar cross-functional operational role.
Experience administering or optimizing HR platforms such as Rippling, ADP, BambooHR, or comparable tools.
Experience supporting employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, offboarding, role changes, compensation updates, benefits cycles, performance/review cycles).
Experience working in a growing/scaling organization where systems and processes evolve alongside the business.
Process-minded and data-oriented; able to translate complex workflows into simple, scalable cross-department systems.
