Summary
Macy’s is hiring a Project Coordinator for its Facilities and Construction organization. This role coordinates assigned capital/maintenance projects, ensuring accurate setup in capital systems and submission for funding approval while supporting on-time, on-budget execution. The coordinator serves as a key point of contact for partner teams, providing guidance on procurement, accounting, and capital requirements.
What you'll do
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with partner teams and suppliers for efficient execution.
- Partner with Senior Managers and Divisional Facilities to deliver approved maintenance projects on time and aligned to operational needs.
- Collaborate across internal teams (Facilities, Construction, Store Operations, Asset Protection, Strategic Procurement, Alarms, Building Management, Energy, Capital Control) and external stakeholders.
- Create, track, and report on assigned projects to ensure adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Monitor workflows, prioritize tasks, and streamline processes to maintain momentum and ensure timely completion.
- Serve as a primary point of contact and provide guidance on corporate procurement policies, accounting procedures, and capital requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
Project coordination & execution: Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure accurate setup, funding submission, and on-time/on-budget delivery.
Financial & capital management: Ability to track budgets, monitor financial commitments, support fiscal year close, and ensure compliance with capital/accounting requirements.
Workflow & process management: Ability to prioritize tasks, monitor workflows, streamline processes, and meet deadlines.
Collaboration: Strong cross-functional partnering with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Procurement & compliance: Knowledge of corporate procurement policies, accounting procedures, and capital requirements.
Analytical/problem-solving: Ability to define problems, analyze data, assess risks, and implement practical solutions.
Strategic thinking: Ability to align projects with organizational priorities and identify operational improvements.
Communication: Strong written/verbal communication, reporting, presenting, and interpreting technical documents (e.g., safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions).
Stakeholder management: Ability to build relationships and coordinate across diverse teams and suppliers.
Physical: Regular sitting, talking, hearing; using hands/fingers; occasional movement and reaching; close vision required.
