Summary
Farmers National Bank of Canfield is hiring a Payroll Administrator to process payroll activities and maintain accurate employee and benefits data in the Human Resources Management System (HRMS). The role supports accurate payroll execution, reporting, compliance, and coordination with Accounting, HR, and external agencies.
What you'll do
- Enter, verify, and process payroll data for company and affiliate associates; submit payroll files on time
- Create, maintain, distribute, and audit payroll/time management/core reports; review and improve payroll processes and procedures
- Identify, research, and correct payroll errors; process payroll corrections/adjustments and special payments
- Provide payroll information and reports to Accounting to support balancing and allocation of payroll expenses (taxes, deductions, direct deposits, etc.)
- Complete post-payroll ACH transmittals by uploading files to online business banking for direct deposits
- Notify Accounting post-payroll to ensure payroll accounts are funded
- Process additional earnings (commissions, incentives, bonuses) received from managers
- Coordinate with government taxing agencies and external payroll service providers to set up and maintain payroll tax jurisdictions (federal, state, local)
- Ensure new-hire payroll data is entered for the appropriate payroll period; explain direct deposit and first-payroll processes to new employees
- Process associate changes in HRMS for payroll/HR/benefits (salary, status, supervisor, title, position, security groups, etc.)
- Monitor and assist managers with time and attendance adjustments in HRMS
- Input 401(k) plan deferrals from semi-monthly provider reports; assist Payroll Manager with annual reports for 401(k) audit and year-end testing
- Partner with HR functional areas (recruiting, employee relations, administration) to deliver strong internal/external client service
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on accurate HRMS data entry and utilization; assist with officer title changes
- Complete mandatory/elective training (including BSA and Anti-Money Laundering) and maintain regulatory compliance
- Maintain regular, predictable attendance; perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Business required; bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience for 250+ employees
- Experience with electronic payroll service software (UKG Pro preferred)
- Excel proficiency (interpret spreadsheets, basic calculations, data manipulation, formulas)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to navigate the internet and research effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
