AI Automation Engineer

Productive Shop is seeking an AI Automation Engineer to join their Engineering team. This role focuses on building and maintaining autonomous, AI-augmented growth systems that bridge backend engineering, AI implementation, and low-code automation. The engineer will be crucial in delivering self-driving workflows with an emphasis on system reliability and scalable architecture.

• Develop and orchestrate AI agents using n8n and Node.js
• Write clean, scalable JavaScript/TypeScript code for complex data transformation, error handling, and session management within automation workflows
• Implement and maintain robust integrations between Slack, Google Drive, OpenAI, Semrush, Google Analytics, and Google Search
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and debug agent failures, handling API timeouts, context window limits, and JSON parsing errors
• Maintain PostgreSQL database tables and optimize schemas
• Refine system prompts and ensure AI outputs meet formatting and quality standards
• Contribute to technical documentation for agent architectures and API connections

• 3+ years professional experience building scalable backend services with Node.js
• 1+ years hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms like n8n, Make.com, or Zapier
• Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design and query optimization
• Solid command of integrating third-party APIs (REST/GraphQL) with authentication and rate limit management
• Experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI API, Gemini) into workflows with prompt engineering
• Familiarity with Git and modern CI/CD workflows
• Desirable: Next.js or React experience, LangChain concepts, vector databases, RAG, Docker, cloud infrastructure (DigitalOcean, Google Cloud, AWS), and technical SEO knowledge
