Payroll Specialist / Analyst
Summary
Ultra Maritime (Ultra Electronics Group) is a naval technology and defense contractor supporting the U.S. Navy and allied forces. The Payroll Specialist/Analyst leads automated payroll and attendance system design and implementation while ensuring payroll accuracy and regulatory compliance across regions.
What you'll do
Lead the design and implementation of automated payroll and attendance systems in collaboration with HR, IT, and payroll teams across multiple regions.
Prepare, document, distribute, and reconcile payroll accurately and on time each pay cycle.
Review pay calculations and associated deductions for accuracy.
Maintain current knowledge of government legislation impacting payroll and ensure applicable provisions are followed.
Prepare or oversee required tax filings and other payroll reporting as needed.
Respond to and resolve employee inquiries regarding paychecks and payroll reporting.
Escalate payroll issues as appropriate and ensure prompt resolution.
Oversee testing and auditing phases to validate system accuracy and compliance with pay policies and regulations.
Requirements
Associate Degree (or equivalent).
4+ years of related payroll experience.
Knowledge of payroll regulations, pay policies, and government legislation affecting payroll.
Ability to ensure accuracy in payroll computations, deductions, reconciliations, and reporting.
Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams (HR, IT, payroll) and supporting multi-region stakeholders.
May be required to meet U.S. nationality requirements and be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
