Summary
SKELAR is a venture builder creating international tech businesses with venture capital investment guidelines. The company seeks an experienced Tax Manager to join the International Reporting and Tax Compliance team and take ownership of indirect tax matters across multiple jurisdictions. This role offers the opportunity to build and evolve the indirect tax function as the company scales internationally while solving complex cross-border tax challenges.
What you'll do
- Take ownership of the Group's global indirect tax framework, ensuring consistent and scalable VAT/GST/sales tax compliance across jurisdictions while continuously improving and automating reporting processes
- Lead and coordinate indirect tax compliance processes across the Group, overseeing internal team and external advisors who prepare and submit tax returns
- Drive indirect tax expansion into new markets, including scoping tax obligations, registrations, and implementing scalable reporting processes
- Oversee indirect tax research across jurisdictions, reviewing analyses and translating regulatory requirements into practical business solutions
- Monitor regulatory developments in key jurisdictions and assess their impact on SKELAR's global operations
- Mentor and support team members, contributing to the development and scaling of the indirect tax function
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in tax at Big 4 or second-tier consulting firms or international companies
- Strong understanding of international indirect taxation principles (VAT/sales tax/GST)
- Experience working with multi-jurisdictional tax matters
- Ability to conduct tax research and translate complex regulations into practical business solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset
- Structured thinking and excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain and defend tax positions with stakeholders
- Proactive self-starter with ability to own projects and drive change
- Upper-intermediate English (written and spoken)
