Middle ML/ AIEngineer

SPD Technology is seeking a Middle ML & AI Engineer to join their team working on PitchBook, a platform for investment professionals. The role focuses on using machine learning, statistical modeling, and NLP to process high-volume data and surface insights for the capital markets.

• Design, develop, and fine-tune generative AI models using transformer architectures
• Implement advanced techniques to create practical solutions for real-world challenges
• Leverage frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith to build automated pipelines and intelligent agents
• Process and analyze large volumes of unstructured data using embeddings and statistical modeling
• Build scalable, production-grade ML systems that handle real-time, high-volume data processing
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to improve data management and support innovation
• Present complex analyses clearly and effectively

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role in a production environment
• Experience with transformer-based language models
• Proficiency in deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow and PyTorch)
• Demonstrated experience with natural language processing
• Proficiency in Python or other object-oriented programming frameworks
• Experience using SQL for data extraction
• Strong communication and data presentation skills
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Experience working closely with software development teams (plus)
• Experience building scalable systems in production (plus)
• Knowledge of financial services, investment, banking, VC, or PE (desired but not required)

Schedule & Location: Fully remote with flexible working schedule; requirement to attend all team meetings.

Work Environment: Scrum-based Agile methodology; team of 6 ML & AI Engineers with an Engineering Manager.
