Summary

Solomon Page’s client is hiring a Global General Manager to lead the growing International division for a Consumer Packaged Goods portfolio. The role owns the international P&L and drives global expansion, distribution capability building, and operational excellence across multiple regions. This leader will scale brand growth while ensuring supply chain continuity and regulatory compliance in diverse retail environments.

What you'll do

  • Create and execute global growth strategies across regions (e.g., EMEA, APAC, LATAM) and prioritize new market entry opportunities.
  • Partner with the Chief Growth Officer and Marketing to define international brand positioning, portfolio strategy, and category expansion plans.
  • Own end-to-end international P&Ls, driving profitable growth, effective pricing strategy, and disciplined investments.
  • Oversee forecasting, trade spend, promotional calendars, and demand planning across retail, e-commerce, and distributor channels.
  • Optimize route-to-market models (entities, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, direct-to-consumer) and establish distributor scorecards and annual operating plans.
  • Negotiate international distribution agreements, retail placements, and strategic partnerships.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to ensure inventory continuity, efficient logistics, and demand-supply alignment.
  • Lead localization of formulations, packaging, and labeling to meet country-specific regulations and consumer preferences.
  • Ensure compliance with global standards (food safety, import/export regulations, product registrations, environmental requirements).
  • Collaborate with Marketing on localized consumer communications, insights, and shopper activation; guide innovation for regional needs.
  • Oversee in-market brand performance and travel internationally for key trade shows.
  • Lead and develop regional teams across sales, operations, and finance; collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Legal, R&D, Supply Chain, and Marketing.
  • Drive performance against KPIs including revenue/profit growth, distribution and market share, RTM effectiveness, forecast accuracy, supply continuity, brand equity, and employee engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10–15+ years of progressive international leadership experience within a CPG company (e.g., food, beverage, beauty, personal care, household care); vitamins/minerals/supplements experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience managing global operations, retail partnerships, and complex multi-market P&Ls.
  • Strong experience with distributors, retailers, and emerging markets (preferred).
  • Strong commercial acumen including pricing, trade management, and retail channel strategy.
  • Deep knowledge of global supply chain and CPG regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent cross-cultural leadership, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to lead in matrixed environments.
  • Consumer-centric mindset with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Second language is a plus for developing markets.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20%.

Conditions

  • Hybrid schedule: 3–4 days per week in-office.
  • Salary range: $250,000–$270,000 annually plus bonus opportunity.
  • Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.
