Summary
Alameda Unified School District is seeking a Principal for Love Elementary for the 2026/27 school year. The role leads school operations and the educational program to promote each student’s development while advancing the district’s equity and excellence mission.
What you'll do
- Administer school operations and supervise the school’s educational program.
- Establish and maintain an effective learning climate.
- Adapt the general education program to meet community needs.
- Develop, administer, and coordinate ancillary programs that enhance student learning opportunities.
- Direct school staff activities and evaluate performance of assigned personnel.
- Establish guidelines for student conduct and discipline procedures.
- Oversee student health, welfare, and attendance.
- Coordinate or supervise support services necessary to administer effective programs.
- Provide leadership for extracurricular activities.
- Administer the decentralized school budget and monitor expenditures.
- Develop public relations to strengthen community understanding and support of the educational program.
- Manage school site safety and administration of the school plant, including fire drills and emergency preparedness.
- Participate in required meetings, special functions, and school events.
- Implement Board policies and administrative rules and regulations.
- Promote professional growth of self and staff.
- Perform other related tasks as requested by the Superintendent.
Requirements
- Valid California Administrative Credential.
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience.
- Minimum 3 years of management, supervisory, or administrative experience (job description also notes at least 2 years in a position requiring management/supervisory skills).
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Ability to lead, supervise, and administer a school program and staff.
