Summary

Netflix is seeking an Accountant to join the Operations Accounting team as the company continues to scale globally. This role focuses on ensuring accurate and efficient accounting operations in compliance with US GAAP while improving processes and partnering cross-functionally to enhance systems and reporting.

What you'll do

  • Design and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Understand end-to-end workflows and identify gaps and opportunities for process improvement, especially in fixed assets and intercompany accounting.
  • Support the monthly financial close by preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and analyzing financial results for management reporting.
  • Partner with Financial Applications and Finance Engineering teams to enhance systems, automate workflows, and improve data quality.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with stakeholders (including FP&A, Project Controls, FPO, Tax, FinTech, and other partners).
  • Represent Operations Accounting in cross-functional initiatives and system implementations.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and support new initiatives aligned with organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (combination of public accounting and private industry); technology or media experience strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance requirements.
  • Experience with multi-currency and intercompany accounting.
  • Experience in fixed asset accounting, including ASC 360.
  • Experience partnering with finance systems, engineering, or internal product teams to improve reporting and processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; Google Sheets experience is a plus.
  • Experience with large cloud-based ERP systems; Workday experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage high-volume transactions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; self-starter able to work independently and collaborate across teams.
  • Forward-thinking mindset with interest in automation, data, and AI-enabled solutions; passion for transforming manual processes into scalable solutions.

Conditions

  • Compensation range stated as annual salary: $140,000 - $210,000 with no bonuses; employees choose salary versus stock options annually.
