Investment Analyst

Summary

Alpha Square Group (ASG) is a New York–headquartered, SEC-registered investment firm with approximately $1.5B in assets under management, investing in global innovation across public and private markets. The Investment Analyst will support the investment team with deal diligence, investment analysis, market research, and portfolio performance tracking to help identify and evaluate breakout companies.

What you'll do

  • Produce quarterly sector snapshots covering funding trends, competitive landscapes, emerging technologies, and key investor activity.

  • Deliver monthly internal updates on market movements and macroeconomic shifts relevant to ASG’s investment themes.

  • Support senior team members in building thematic investment theses through structured research and competitive mapping.

  • Assist in evaluating investment opportunities, contributing to first-pass assessments across financial, competitive, and strategic dimensions.

  • Support investment memo preparation, including market positioning analysis, valuation benchmarking, and risk factor research.

  • Coordinate with deal leads to ensure diligence is thorough, well-documented, and delivered on time.

  • Track portfolio company performance quarterly, monitoring KPIs, financials, and valuation trends.

  • Flag material developments or concerns to the relevant deal lead in a timely manner.

  • Build professional connections through online networking, industry communities, and selective events.

  • Maintain organized research in Notion and shared drives for team-wide reference.

  • Contribute to process improvements and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in investment banking, venture capital, private equity, consulting, or a related field (strong internship experience considered).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline; strong academic track record preferred.

  • Strong research and writing skills with high attention to detail.

  • Comfortable with financial modeling, valuation analysis, and comparable company benchmarking.

  • Familiarity with tools such as Notion, PitchBook, or Bloomberg (plus).

  • Genuine passion for technology, venture, and innovation-driven investing.

  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple workstreams, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaborative, low-ego, eager to learn.
